Customs Advantages
1) Approved Person Status Advantage in Export Transactions
Under the Customs General Communiqué (Serial No. 31) published in the Official Gazette dated 23.01.2004, No. 25355 by the Undersecretariat of Customs, our company meets the relevant criteria and holds the Onaylanmış Kişi Statü Belgesi (Approved Person Status Certificate).
Export transactions are processed at Customs Directorates under the Blue–Yellow–Red Line control system. The applicable line is determined automatically in the customs automation system based on registered risk criteria.
The Red Line indicates physical inspection of the goods. The Yellow Line indicates documentary control and may be converted to the Red Line when deemed necessary. In such cases, completion of procedures may require working beyond standard hours, which leads to time loss and additional cost.
Due to our status, export transactions carried out through our intermediation are generally processed under the Blue Line, which provides a clear advantage in terms of time and cost efficiency.
2) Approved Person Status Advantage for A.TR Certification
Companies holding the Approved Person Status Certificate are authorized to issue, approve, and validate A.TR Movement Certificates without the obligation to submit these documents to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) for certification or to customs administrations for endorsement/visa procedures.
As a result, for export transactions carried out through our company, there is no additional approval cost, and exports gain significant speed and operational efficiency.
Customs Process Management and Advantages
A customs advantage is not limited to tax rates alone. It is a benefit that directly impacts time, cost, and risk through the right regime selection, correct declaration, accurate documentation, and a properly designed logistics structure. While managing customs processes in full compliance with legislation across our clients’ import and export operations, we also reduce unnecessary waiting times through process design, make cost items visible, and structure the most efficient customs route available. Our objective is to move every shipment away from “last-minute problem solving” and into a system that is planned from the outset and fully auditable.
As a first step, we develop a customs strategy on a transaction- and product-specific basis. We assess HS/GTIP classification, rules of origin, technical product characteristics, intended use, product safety and compliance requirements, import permits, and required certifications. This analysis reduces the risk of incorrect declarations and clarifies whether preferential tariff opportunities can be used correctly, including trade agreements, preferential origin, and movement certificates. At the same time, we improve budget control by making total-cost components visible in advance, including customs value, freight and insurance elements, and additional fiscal liabilities.
The most critical factor that amplifies customs advantage is selecting the correct customs regime. Depending on the nature of the transaction, we determine which regime or procedure best fits the client’s operational model, such as release for free circulation, transit, temporary storage, bonded warehousing, or inward processing. For example, when immediate release would create unnecessary cost, using bonded areas can provide planning flexibility. In production or re-export-oriented flows, a correctly designed regime can make tax and time management significantly more efficient. Our core principle is clear: every advantage must be supported by a legally compliant documentation order and an operational flow that can be applied in practice.
The second critical area is building a flawless document set. We verify consistency from the outset across commercial invoices, packing lists, transport documents (CMR/AWB/Bill of Lading), insurance policies, origin and movement certificates (where applicable, A.TR, EUR.1, etc.), technical documents, and conformity certificates when required. Documentation inconsistency increases the risk of customs delays, extra costs, and corrective actions. For this reason, we work with checklists and standardized templates to prevent errors at the earliest stage. We also establish transaction-based filing standards to keep processes robust under audit scenarios.
On the field side, we ensure that customs advantages translate into real operational outcomes by managing on-site coordination across customs-controlled locations and bonded warehouses throughout Türkiye. We design cargo receiving, counting and inspection, segregation, labeling and packaging, palletizing, and shipment readiness steps in alignment with the customs flow. For product groups that may require inspection, sampling, laboratory testing, or additional controls, we develop alternative plans and consolidate appointment planning, site management, and carrier coordination into a single operational calendar. This approach shortens waiting times and aims to reduce time-based costs such as demurrage and detention.
In customs operations, not only speed but also predictability creates advantage. We identify potential risk points before shipment execution and take preventive measures. This includes high-risk HS/GTIP areas, origin uncertainty, missing technical documentation, non-compliant labeling, and inconsistencies in customs value elements. Where necessary, we clarify product data sheets, standardize supplier documentation, and work in parallel with customs brokerage to improve declaration quality. This reduces both the cost and operational stress of later corrections.
Another factor that supports customs advantage in international operations is selecting the right delivery terms and transport model. Incoterms selection affects cost and responsibility allocation and also determines the calculation of customs value elements and documentation flow. We help clients choose the most appropriate delivery model based on their risk appetite and operating structure. We evaluate transit time, alignment between export and import customs steps, and cost balance across road, sea, and air transport. For lanes extending to Europe and other global markets, we maintain coordination through our partner network and provide single-point tracking.
To make customs advantage sustainable, we establish reporting and control mechanisms. We regularly share shipment-based critical dates, document status, declaration stage, inspection and delivery updates, and cost items. After completion, we provide concise reviews supported by data that answer: Why did it wait? Which costs occurred? How can we prevent this in the next shipment? This transforms customs operations from a repetitive problem area into a continuously improving system.
When applicable, customs advantage can also be strengthened through simplified procedures and trusted operator practices. Based on a client’s transaction volume, compliance infrastructure, and operating model, we evaluate which facilitation mechanisms may be feasible. We organize digital tracking such as document archives, declaration references, and proofs of delivery. This accelerates communication with customs authorities and enables fast, consistent submission of requested information and documents during post-clearance controls. In addition, when amendments or additional document requests arise, we define the right action plan and aim to manage objections, guarantees, and correction steps without interrupting operations.
For companies with a broad product portfolio, establishing an institutional standard for classification and origin can create a substantial advantage. We build reference files for frequently repeated product groups, keep technical documentation up to date, and provide guidance that improves supplier-side data quality. Where needed, we support steps such as seeking binding classification or origin opinions, simplifying product trees, and assessing alternative sourcing scenarios. This both reduces risk and increases operational speed.
For us, the essence of customs advantage is increasing efficiency while maintaining full compliance. Using preferential tariff opportunities safely through correct classification, correct origin, and the right documentation set, managing time and cost through proper regime selection, and reducing delays through on-site coordination and proactive risk control are the core pillars of our approach. As a result, our clients achieve a faster, more transparent, and more predictable customs flow, control total cost, and protect both their commercial reputation and operational continuity.
